Gent is a small town, but has a lot of great places/things to visit and see. When the sun came out, it just illuminated the entire town. People were so friendly with us and I had a lot of fun roaming the streets.
Isn't this just stunning? Gent has a few large rivers/canals that run through the town. I just love how the sun brightens up the scene.
The only way to have hot chocolate. We ate at a small bar/restaurant when we first arrived in Gent and because it was so cold I decided to order a hot chocolate (I figured their hot chocolate would be similar to ours, which it was). When this was brought to me, I was surprised and intrigued. Their hot chocolate is make with a cup of hot milk and a piece of chocolate. The chocolate is specific for this purpose. You put the chocolate that is on the stick into the milk and swirl it around until it is completely melted. It was absolutely delicious. I've decided this is the only way to have hot chocolate. I even bought some of the chocolate to bring back to Spain for winter. :)
One of the many churches we saw. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of each one. I liked this one very much because it had northern Europe medieval architecture. Very different from the medieval architecture in Spain.

Jozef's Fry stand. Belgium is not only known for its chocolate and waffles, but also its fries and their many sauces for the fries. This particular stand is famous because it is one of the few places that still makes all their fries fresh and from scratch. They were delicious.

The band...they have a saxophonist, accordionist/pianist, two guitarists (the singer and the long haired guy who is very talented), a bassist and a drummer who's American.
I've learned it is difficult to take pictures when the band is moving/playing and the crowd is waving their hands in the air....haha!
